2000
Instrument package was sold to the hospital of Arkansas, USA. The
company has agreed with the manufacturer Nera Production (now
incorporated with Flextronics International) to outsource the
production of the instruments.
2001–2002
The research findings using the method have been presented at
scientific congresses and in scientific journals since 1999.The
method is very sensitive. It is the first method based on the
measurement of emotional sweating that has been able to measure pain
responses in preterm infants. We found an immediate increase in skin
conductance variables when the pain stimuli started and an immediate
decrease when the pain stimuli ceased. This study was published in
2000. Hanne Storm received SND's 1st Price of Innovative projects (The
Reodor Price)
SND (Norwegian Industrial and regional Development Fund), SVO (Norwegian
Government Consultative Office for Inventors) and the municipality
of Oslo allocated grants to support Stage II of the project. In 2002
SND supported the further development of the project through a
development project with Ulleval Hospital.. The prototype of the
monitor was CE certified in spring 2001 as class I medical equipment.
A positive IPER report by the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) was
received in July 2001. Positive patent report review. The second
patent application submitted , has been considered as an innovative
finding by the Norwegian patent authorities. In order to strengthen
the opportunities of the method within sleep and pain management and
anaesthesia, a third application was submitted 2002.
